Project Type:

70 units of affordable multifamily housing, with an attached 7,500 sf Early Childcare Center that will provide education, meals, and childcare for 60 children from low-income families via the Adams County Head Start program.  

This 2-acre development is located within the heart of the brand-new 234-acre Uplands Master Plan, and will be fully integrated with all local amenities, including access to many parks, trails, employment opportunities, and walkable commercial destinations. 
 

Description:

Verrbena is an "all-in-one" future apartment community offering 70 units of affordable housing, of which 18 of the 70 units are designated for the I/DD community.   Maiker will further the cause by providing 12 Project Based Vouchers for our I/DD units and will also accept verified referrals and Individual Based Vouchers.  

 

Our development is honored to be the first project in Colorado to be certified via the voluntary "Kelsey Inclusive Design Standards", an architectural design guidebook specializing in inclusive, disability friendly communities. Verrbena's design team has incorporated 60% of the guidebook's 140 design elements, some of which are: identifiable circulation amenities within corridors and common areas; light-sensitive amenities and fixtures; variations in flooring, lighting, ceiling height, colors, & large windows; common-area acoustic paneling and unit layouts for noise reduction; non-slip LVP for all units; pliable light fixtures; easily-accessible storage; safety appliance & water shutoffs; and illuminated entries with unique materials/patterns/textures for grand wayfinding.

 

Operationally, the building will engage 3rd party service providers and include a Neuro-Inclusive Coordinator to aid with concierge services, inclusivity events, transportation, and employment/healthcare facilitation.  The above services and amenities will be available for all residents to grow a comfortable, inclusive housing community. ​

Stage:

Verrbena is currently under construction. We expect to begin leasing the units upon the building's completion in August 2027.
