Description:

L'Arche is an intentional community of people with and without disabilities who live, work and share life together.   We cultivate community through intentional approaches to relationships, community, culture and partnerships.  We express our core values through Welcome, Connection and Belonging.  We welcome every person (who they are as they are) and celebrate their gifts.  We connect people to relationships and resources that meet their real needs.  We belong together by cultivating meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships.  We host a variety of recurring events to facilitate community and relationship building across differences.
 

L’Arche Northern Colorado has built a 6 bedroom / 4 bathroom  home designed to be energy efficient (ZERH) and to meet Universal Design principles.  Three people with disabilities will receive supports in our home, in a reverse host home model, with up to 3 live-in caregivers.  In partnership with Imagine! (an I/DD service provider), we can offer all HCBS services.  We located our home in a neighborhood developed with community partners that is intentionally inclusive. We included community amenities like shared nature areas, play spaces, gardens, meeting spaces and a large community building to foster connection and inclusion.  We are also actively engaged in partnerships with local schools, faith-based organizations and other nonprofits to help to create a world where everyone can belong.

Stage:

Construction of our first home is complete. We are now starting the public phase of a $2.5M capital campaign to build our second home and liquidate all debt on both.  We are exploring partnership opportunities to open more homes and service opportunities using similar models.  We have been providing services of 18 months and are actively preparing to expand our offerings.
